Define wind protection and rain protection as separate requirements in the development brief. State the intended playing conditions, acceptable ventilation and any supported material or garment test criteria. Review the shell, seams, closures and ventilation features against those requirements. A wind-resistant fabric or water-repellent finish alone should not be used to describe the completed jacket as waterproof.
